Venturer Concept Vantablack
H. Moser & Cie 2019
No markings. No logo. Only black. And not just any black: absolute, depths of the universe black, reflecting no light. The Vantablack on the dial of the Venturer Concept is the same substance used in astrophysics inside ultra-sensitive telescopes and by armed forces as thermal camouflage. Composed of vertically aligned carbon nanontubes, it absorbs 99.965% of incident light, which makes it the ideal material for H. Moser & Cie. in its quest for ultimate sobriety. Echoing the minimalist dial is the Venturer case in red gold whose convex forms hark back to 1960s designs. In deference to this pure aesthetic, only hours and minutes are shown on the dial; the 3-day power-reserve indicator sits on the movement side, surrounded by the hand-executed finishing of the in-house HMC 327 calibre.
