Yard of the Granvelle palace © G.Vieille, city of Besançon
Set in the prestigious Palais Granvelle, this astonishing and original museum takes visitors on a journey through time and makes sense of what can seem an abstract notion.
The historical, technical and scientific aspects of time measurement are presented on the first two floors while the third floor hosts temporary exhibitions. From the top of the tower, visitors enjoy a sweeping view of the town, and the chance to experience the rotation of the Earth, thanks to the Foucault pendulum.
