"In watchmaking, everything has been done, and everything remains to be done." This is the credo of Christophe Claret which draws its inspiration from heritage and tradition in an effort to reinvent modern watchmaking. This watchmaker's creations therefore have a level of technicality and innovation that offer a new interpretation of grand complications. Sometimes playful, sometimes with hidden twists, Christophe Claret timepieces bear the emotion of discovery.  The watchmaker's know-how is conveyed through four lines of complications: Traditional, Gaming, Extreme and  Ladies.

At a young age, Christophe Claret discovered a passion for the mechanics of time. After graduating from the Geneva Watchmaking School, he continued his training at the Roger Dubuis watchmaker-jeweller to subsequently set up his first watchmaking workshop at a family-run establishment in Lyon specialising in restoration. 1987 was a year of revelation after meeting Rolf Schnyder, owner of the Ulysse Nardin brand, who placed an order for 20 San Marco minute-repeater calibres with jacks. His passion and drive was born, and two years later he established Claret Manufacture. In just a decade, his name became a benchmark in the field of complication movements, with his customer base growing. Christophe Claret then decided to give his company fresh impetus and in 1999 he purchased the Soleil d’Or mansion in Le Locle. From 2002 to 2008, Claret Manufacture pursued its expansion, today employing approximately a hundred employees in about thirty different professions. Also working on behalf of third parties, Christophe Claret produced watches in his own name, often unique pieces for collectors. Initially a sideline business, it came into its own in 2009. In celebration of 20 years of watchmaking, Christophe Claret designed the DualTow, a mechanical concentration of his watchmaking skill which heralded the grand complications of the future. Today the Christophe Claret independent brand belongs to the circle of Fine Watchmakers as a fully integrated manufacturer.
