Key dates

The story of Roger Dubuis is marked by dazzling success. The company was established in 1995 through a partnership between a talented master watchmaker – Roger Dubuis – and Carlos Dias, a brilliant designer.

From its very first year, the Manufacture introduced two collections, Sympathie and Hommage, that soon ignited the world of Fine Watchmaking by striking a fine balance between traditional watchmaking expertise and avant-garde design.

Roger Dubuis : Manufacture

1999 to 2003

The iconic Excalibur collection was launched, equipped with an exclusive Double Tourbillon movement. This was also the year that Roger Dubuis moved into its extended head office in Meyrin.

The brand presented six new movements at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie in Geneva, including three world-first showings. They equipped the latest models in the Excalibur line, one of Roger Dubuis' flagship collections. These new calibres brought the number of the brand's proprietary movements to 28, all hallmarked with the Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal).

These 28 movements were spotlighted in an exhibition staged at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie. From the most simple to the most highly complicated, they illustrated the company's extraordinary heritage.

In August, Roger Dubuis became part of the Richemont group. The KingSquare collection was launched.

In addition to the draconian standards of the Poinçon de Genève to which all Roger Dubuis movements conform, each calibre was now subjected to additional testing by recognised specialist laboratories. Henceforth, all Roger Dubuis movements were submitted to the COSC, the official Swiss chronometer testing institute, for certification, with the objective of attaining COSC certification for all its movements by 2012.

2011 to 2015

A chain of striking innovations marks this period. Roger Dubuis launches a series of collections and outstanding calibres. Quatuor RD101 is one of them, the first movement with four sprung balances and 5 differentials, a new approach to compensate earth gravity. The iconic Excalibur collection sees numerous evolutions in the form of Excalibur 36, Excalibur 42, and a new interpretation of the skeleton watch – Excalibur Spider.

The Maison focuses on two key collections:

The Excalibur collection features a powerful aesthetic and several exceptional mechanisms. Our deliberately extravagant Excalibur timepieces push the boundaries of traditional watchmaking with striking avant-garde design.

The Velvet collection features a glamorous design and exquisite mechanisms. Contemporary and seductive, the Velvet collection exudes exceptional charisma and cultivates the art of the extravagant.

Roger Dubuis joins forces with 2 great references in motorsport. Visionary engineers of Pirelli and Lamborghini Squadra Corse and incredible watchmakers of Roger Dubuis work side by side to create magnificent new timepieces – Excalibur Aventador S and Excalibur Spider Pirelli.

Excalibur Aventador S leads the pack by reinterpreting five essential elements of high-performance racing cars resulting in innovative features that protected by five corresponding watchmaking patent filings by Roger Dubuis.

Roger Dubuis goes for the next lap with its motorsport partners by joining the race at Lamborghini Super Trofeo in the role of official sponsor, and launching new watchmaking engine Excalibur Huracán in collaboration with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. Continuous collaboration with Pirelli evolves into the Excalibur Spider Pirelli PitStop edition where the Excalibur Single Flying Tourbillon model is equipped with 7 straps echoing the seven Pirelli tyre colors used in iconic races.
