Hold a federal VET diploma (certificat fédéral de capacité - CFC) as a watchmaker-repairer or pass the practical exam.
École Supérieure Technique du Locle delivers the only training in Switzerland for a microtechnician specialising in restoration/complications. The course is open to holders of a federal VET* diploma (certificat fédéral de capacité) as a watchmaker-repairer. Students on this full-time course learn to repair and restore valuable antique timepieces, for the most part clocks and watches held in collections, and to master modern and traditional production techniques. Lessons in art and design history, materials science, watchmaking theory and construction technology complete this two-year course.
