Length of training:
2 years
Higher vocational college Diploma
Admission condition

Hold a federal VET diploma (certificat fédéral de capacité - CFC) in a related subject: jewellery, engraving, watchmaking, microtechnology, micro-mechanics and pass the entrance exam.

In their first year of studies at École d’Arts Appliqués de La Chaux-de-Fonds, students in watch design learn to produce sketches which take into account the limitations imposed by materials and manufacturing processes, to work with different materials by making small objects and simple jewellery, and to make a model of project from a production drawing using a 3D printer. In their second year, students prepare a mock diploma by developing a project from scratch, as part of a competition organised by the school in partnership with a watch or fashion brand. At the end of the second year, students have a further 12 weeks to prepare their final degree.
