An electroplater specialises in the surface treatment of metals, synthetic and other materials by immersing parts in a chemical or electrolytic bath (electrolyte). This deposits a very thin layer of metal (chrome, silver, gold or other) to the base metal in order to make it more resistant to corrosion, a better conductor, or as a decorative finish.
