A gemsetter sets precious stones, gemstones and pearls into mounts on watches and jewellery using various techniques such as grain setting, claw setting or bezel setting. (Source: Institut national des métiers d’art – INMA, Paris) In recent years, certain gemsetting workshops in Switzerland have introduced mechanised or rationalised setting.
