RM 21-01 Manual Winding Tourbillon Aerodyne

Precision, resistance, reliability, light weight: at Richard Mille, innovation and performance are achieved through materials engineering. For the exterior of this 50-piece limited edition of its RM 21-01 Tourbillon Aerodyne, the brand has opted to combine two materials, and reinforced the complex structure of the red gold case with an exoskeleton in Carbon TPT® for the bezel and side pillars. The result is an ultra-resistant “suit of armour” protecting the manual-winding RM 21-01 calibre. Based on a highly architectural construction, typical of Richard Mille, the movement baseplate is in honeycombed orthorhombic Haynes® 214® — a nickel-chromium-aluminium-iron alloy — with a Carbon TPT® core, and has been given a blue PVD treatment. This combination of Carbon TPT® and Haynes® 214® gives unparalleled stiffness while the honeycomb structure lightens the effect. In addition to a tourbillon, an indicator for the 70-hour power reserve at 11 o’clock and a torque indicator at 1 o’clock, there is a selector for the winding, neutral and hand-setting functions, operated by a pusher in the crown. The white rubber gasket around the crown is a nod to the comfortable white rubber strap.
