Santos-Dumont Skeleton
True to the 1904 original, perpetuated in the gold or steel case with exposed screws, and in the beaded crown set with a blue cabochon, the Santos-Dumont watch acquires its first ever skeleton movement, with details that celebrate the famed aviator. The 9629 MC automatic calibre incorporates a functional oscillating weight in the form of a miniature replica of the Demoiselle – a pioneering aircraft devised by Alberto Santos-Dumont in 1907 and one of the 22 flying machines to come out of the aviator’s imagination. This new micro-rotor movement was two years in development at Cartier’s Manufacture in La Chaux-de-Fonds and comprises 212 components. The Santos-Dumont Skeleton comes in rose gold and steel versions, joined by a 150-piece limited edition in yellow gold and navy lacquer.
