Arceau Duc Attelé

Understated yet no less distinctive, the Hermès Duc Attelé blends Haute Horlogerie with equestrian emblems. The 43mm case contains a high-frequency movement with a central triple-axis tourbillon together with a minute repeater that chimes on a tuning-fork gong. On the dial side, a sapphire dome tops the triple-axis tourbillon whose three titanium carriages rotate once every 300, 60 and 25 seconds respectively, surrounded by the curved, off-centre hour chapter. Hours and minutes are shown by claw-shaped hands whose blue colour complements the 48-hour power-reserve indicator at 6 o'clock. Also at the bottom of the dial are the two minute-repeater hammers, which are sculpted in the shape of a horse. Activated by a slide on the side of the case, they strike hours, quarters and minutes on the elongated U-shaped branches of the hardened steel tuning-fork gong, which circles the edge of the dial, to produce a sound reminiscent of cathedral bells. Manually-wound by the crown at 3 o'clock, the Arceau Duc Attelé watch beats to the precise rhythm of the H1926 manufacture movement, equipped with a high frequency (5 Hz) balance wheel. Every detail of the movement can be admired through a sapphire case back, not least the gears whose cut-out design is inspired by the wheels of the "duc attelé", a four-wheeled horse-drawn carriage.
