Chronomètre FB 2 RES.2-1

In 2020 Ferdinand Berthoud introduced its second collection, Chronomètre FB 2RE, and with it its first round case, first display with three central hands and first movement with a double regulation system, combining a fusee-and-chain transmission with a remontoir d'égalité. Four years later, the brand has revisited the movement's design so as to highlight its sophisticated workings. Similarly, the domed grand feu enamel dial of the first edition gives way to an openwork dial whose wide opening, extending from 3 to 6 o'clock, reveals three bridges that converge towards the centre – a construction taken from a table clock that Ferdinand Berthoud himself made in 1775. Exposing the mechanism this way also reveals the meticulous finishing applied to the components. Thirty-eight skeletonised movements will be produced with multiple personalisation options for the case shape, material, colour and finishing, with more than 200 possible variations in total, all of which can be tested using the specially developed online configurator. The movement is the FB-RES.FC, still with a fusee-and-chain transmission and remontoir d'égalité.
