L.U.C Heritage EHG Moon 122
In honour of the 200th anniversary of the Geneva School of Watchmaking (Ecole d’Horlogerie de Genvève EHG), Chopard, which has been a partner to the school since 2004, presents the L.U.C Heritage EHG Moon 122, crafted from 18k ethical rose gold. Limited to 20 pieces, it contains a new manual-winding movement which bears the Poinçon de Genève hallmark and is chronometer-certified by the COSC. Developed with students at the school, the L.U.C 63.04-L calibre incorporates an astronomical moon-phase display that requires a single correction of one day every 122 years. An elegant aventurine dial is decorated with constellations as a reminder of the beauty of the sky at night. Small seconds at 9 o’clock exhibit a representation of Earth’s continents in sculpted rose gold on a background of blue lacquer for the oceans. An aperture at 3 o’clock reveals the lunar surface, also in rose gold, surmounted by an aventurine disc to indicate the different phases of the moon. Conceived as a tribute to ancestral watchmaking skills and the importance of preserving this expertise, the L.U.C Heritage EHG Moon 122 is proof of Chopard’s commitment to supporting future generations of watchmakers.
