Calendar
The marine chronometer is an important part of Ulysse Nardin's 171-year history, joined here by an annual calendar. Mechanically programmed to adapt to months with 30 or 31 days, in its classic rendition an annual calendar can require up to 30 components. By streamlining the system to just seven elements, the Manufacture's watchmakers have used simplicity to serve practicality. The movement, which is COSC-certified and fitted with a silicon escapement and silicon balance spring, enables the time and date to be set both forwards and backwards. The Grand Feu enamel dial incorporates a delicate wave pattern between the power-reserve indicator at 12 o'clock and the small seconds subdial, date and month at 6 o'clock.
