Orbis in Machina
Orbis in Machina: Orbis for the revolving nature of the central monotourbillon and the circular lines of the display, with hours and minutes on rotating discs and small seconds on the tourbillon cage. Machina for the calibre itself. Roger Dubuis' horological engineers have given this watch two faces, representing innovation and tradition. The front is the contemporary face, captured in a multi-level design and modern finishes; the reverse is an elaborate composition that honours early Roger Dubuis movements in its cut-out bridges and the circular architecture that is typical of traditional Geneva watchmaking. Framed by a 45mm rose gold case, it differs from the Excalibur Monotourbillon 42mm in its round, concentric, symmetrical design. Roger Dubuis will produce just 28 of this Orbis in Machina, presented on a black calfskin strap.
