Overseas Self-Winding Ultra-Thin
Vacheron Constantin continues to explore ultra-thinness with calibre 2550. Fitted in the Overseas Self-Winding Ultra-Thin, it redefines the balance between slenderness, autonomy and robustness. Just 2.4mm in height, this automatic movement marks an evolution on the legendary calibre 1120 with a completely reconsidered architecture. Developed over seven years, it achieves a power reserve of 80 hours thanks to the innovative choice of a micro-rotor that is integrated directly in the mainplate. This significantly reduces thickness while maintaining efficient winding. Another major innovation is the suspended double barrel. As for the gear train, it too has been entirely rethought to fit on a single level. Its compact architecture comprises five wheels, two of which are mounted on ball bearings. Housing this new movement is a case in 950 platinum, the first in the collection. Measuring 39.5mm in diameter and 7.35mm high, it sets a new standard of thinness for the Manufacture’s sporty line. Water-resistant to 50 metres and with a salmon dial, this 255-piece limited edition is presented on an integrated platinum bracelet that can be swapped out for straps in leather or textured rubber.
