RM UP-01 Ferrari
The first watch to come out of Richard Mille’s partnership with Ferrari, the RM UP-01 Ferrari grabs the title of thinnest watch in the world thanks to its 1.75-mm height. Such an exploit is the result of 6,000 hours of R&D and laboratory testing. Better still, as a guarantee of shock-resistance the brand has retained a traditional architecture whereby the movement is assembled inside a titanium case as opposed to a construction in which the case back doubles as the main plate. Rather than stacking components, the brand has spread them over a larger surface by creating a perfect symbiosis between movement and case. The RM UP-01 manual-winding movement with hours, minutes and function selector withstands accelerations of 5,000 g, stands 1.18 mm high, weighs 2.82 grams and develops a 45-hour power reserve. Taking the place of the winding stem are two crowns: one for function selection and one for using the chosen function (winding or time-setting). Both are integrated into the case as movement wheels.
