Tambour Taiko Spin Time Antipode

Since the introduction in 2007 of its Spin Time concept of “jumping” rotating cubes, Geneva-based La Fabrique du Temps, part of the LVMH group since 2011, has presented multiple variations on this complication, including a regatta timer and a GMT function. A capsule collection has been added to the roster in 2025. They are the six Tambour Taiko Spin Time (taiko is Japanese for drum, just as tambour is French for drum), each a 50-piece limited edition. All have in common a white gold case; laser-frosted, hollowed lugs; a dolphin-grey colour and the Louis Vuitton name in relief around the bezel edge. One of the six models, the Antipode, delivers a novel take on the world time complication. Local time is read from the central display, comprising a rotating disk for the hours and a minute hand. Rotating cubes, inscribed with the abbreviation for two cities in two time zones, twelve hours apart, indicate the time in that time zone, read off the hour marker opposite them. Cities are colour-coded to show whether it’s day or night. This complication is powered by the LFT ST12.01 calibre, beating at 4 Hz and accumulating 45 hours of power reserve, inside a 42.5mm case measuring 12.45mm high.
