Tri-Axial Planetarium
Three years after unveiling its Tri-Axial tourbillon, Girard-Perregaux puts performance and precision centre-stage again. Still taking pride of place, the high-speed tourbillon, whose regulator rotates on three axes instead of just one, is now joined by two fascinating complications. On one side, a precision moon phase that requires a single adjustment after 122 years. On the other, a rotating globe with day/night indication. Hand-painted, it depicts in miniature the world as it was in 1791, the year Girard-Perregaux was established. This charming journey through time and space takes place against an elegant silvered dial whose guilloché pattern suggests the earth's meridians. The more curious observer can take advantage of the sapphire back and the side openings in the 48-mm case to admire the intricacy of the highly accomplished, manual-wind movement.
