For the first time, Patek Philippe combines two of its major patented complications in one watch: an annual calendar (which needs a single correction once a year) and the Travel Time second time zone display. The date is synchronised with local time and adjusts forwards or backwards when the time zone is changed. Indications on the dial include day/night for local time and home time. Moon phases sit inside the small seconds subdial which also “contains” the date window. As a home for the new automatic 31-260 PS QA LU FUS 24H movement, which is protected by eight patents, Patek Philippe has introduced fresh design elements to the Calatrava case, whose flanks are decorated with a guilloché hobnail pattern. The granular appearance of the vintage-style dial suggests old camera cases.
