Big Pilot's Watch Constant-Force Tourbillon Edition "IWC Racing"

Motor racing has inspired this Big Pilot’s Watch, produced as a limited edition of fifteen. The generously sized 46mm case in matte black Ceratanium® — a material that is as light as titanium and as hard as ceramic — houses a constant-force tourbillon movement; one of the most sophisticated mechanisms ever from IWC. This constant-force system disengages the escapement from the direct flow of power from the gear train and transmits regular impulses of energy to the escape wheel. There is also a double moon-phase display for the northern and southern hemispheres, in addition to an indicator for the four-day power reserve, in the style of a tachometer. White numerals and yellow accents on the black dial recall a dashboard, while the ring-shaped structure of the outer dial ring resembles cold air intakes on a high-performance engine. Racing-inspired details extend down to the rubber strap, which features an inlay in Alcantara®, a synthetic microfibre used for the seats and steering wheel covers of performance cars.
