Big Pilot's Watch Shock Absorber XPL

No impact can disturb the functioning of the movement inside the Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber XPL. Its secret: the patented SPRIN-g PROTECT system whose central element — a cantilever spring in amorphous Bulk Metallic Glass — cushions the movement in the event of an impact, allowing it to keep moving independently of the case then bringing it gently to a stop. Eight years in development, the system is capable of protecting the movement from accelerations of up to 30,000g. Its performance is guaranteed by the lightweight movement construction, including certain components made from a high-tech aluminium alloy, as this reduces the mass the shock absorber has to protect. The movement is housed inside a 44mm case in Ceratanium®, an exclusive alloy that is as light and robust as titanium, as hard and scratch-resistant as ceramic. This Big Pilot’s Watch Shock Absorber XPL will be made to order, with a maximum production of ten watches a year.
