Black Bay 58 GMT
Newly introduced to the Black Bay line, Tudor's Black Bay 58 GMT harks back to the mid-century and an era of glamorous, jet-setting travel. Fitted with a new in-house GMT calibre, it matches warm shades of burgundy and black with gilt accents on the bidirectional rotating bezel. The Black Bay 58 is named after the year Tudor launched its first dive watch, water-resistant to 200 metres: reference 7924 or “Big Crown” as it became known. Like the historic model, and many 1950s watches, the Black Bay 58 GMT sports a 39mm diameter. Calibre MT5450-U – whose METAS certification is one of the industry's toughest standards - illustrates Tudor's technical development strategy to build adaptable movement architectures that will integrate new functions without additional modules. Robustness and precision are built into its design, thanks to a variable inertia balance wheel which is secured by a sturdy traversing bridge with two-point anchoring. In line with METAS criteria, precision is between 0 and +5 seconds/day.
