Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Glassbox
2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the Carrera. Among the models launched for the occasion are two 39mm chronos in steel with the distinguishing feature of a Glassbox crystal: a throwback to the domed Hesalite crystals on certain 1970s Heuer Carrera models. The devil being in the detail, the new design sees the crystal flow over the tachymeter scale that runs around the edge of the dial to then merge with the case. Accentuating this seamless aesthetic, the same curved shape appears on the flange and indexes of the 42mm Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Glassbox. COSC-certified and with 65 hours of power reserve, the TH20-09 calibre benefits from a five-year warranty. Improvements made by TAG Heuer’s movements team include bidirectional winding and a higher level of finishing. Silver surrounds ensure that the snailed chronograph subdials stand out for instant legibility. Readability is also boosted by an orange dot above each hour marker on the minutes scale, and by the orange running seconds hand.
