Cartier Privé Tortue Watch
The Cartier Privé collection takes iconic designs from Cartier's watchmaking repertoire and transposes them to the present day. For this eight edition, the brand has chosen the Tortue, unveiled in 1912. A shining example of a form (non-round) watch, the Tortue carries on from previous revelations, such as the Crash, the Tank Cintrée and the Tonneau. This revisited Tortue is slimmer than its forebear with refined proportions, while apple hands and a railroad minute track, aligned with the indices, remain faithful to the original. With displays of hours and minutes powered by the manual-winding 430 MC calibre, the Cartier Privé Tortue Watch is proposed in yellow gold, platinum and gem-set platinum. On the platinum version, rhodium-plated Roman numerals adorn a silvered opaline dial and there is a ruby cabochon set in the crown.
