Defy Extreme Diver

Themes: Classic
Specificities: Diving, Vintage

Introduced in 1969, the Defy Diver was one of the very first Defy watches, and it is this legacy model that has inspired Zenith for the Extreme Diver, engineered to endure the challenges of diving in the deepest waters. Its angular case is in titanium and equipped with a helium escape valve for saturation diving. Above the fixed twelve-sided bezel, the ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel features grooved edges for a better grip, while the flange is a distinctive orange colour. The oversized screw-down crown is protected by titanium crown-guards on either side. Like the original Defy A3648, the Defy Extreme Diver is rated water-resistant to 600 metres. It meets ISO 6425 requirements for professional dive watches, which include ISO 764 for paramagnetism and ISO 1413 for shock-resistance. The metallic dial, in black or blue with coordinating ceramic bezel and colour-matched date display, features a geometric pattern of engraved four-pointed stars. For optimal legibility, oversized hands and indices are filled with three pigments of X1 grade Super-LumiNova® with light emissions in blue, green and orange to distinguish between the functions of hours, minutes and seconds. The Defy Extreme Diver is powered by the El Primero 3620-SC automatic high-frequency manufacture movement, visible through a sapphire case back, with 60 hours of power reserve. This version of El Primero incorporates a paramagnetic escapement with key components in non-metallic silicon. The Defy Extreme Diver is fitted with a titanium bracelet and Zenith supplies two additional straps: one in rubber and one made from recycled fishing nets.
