Coco Chanel's workshop and the tools of the seamstress's trade have inspired the Chanel Couture O'Clock capsule collection. Thimbles and scissors, needles and pins - the everyday objects of the Rue Cambon atelier – become the distinctive components of new creations that merge watchmaking, jewellery and handcrafting. New interpretations enrich Chanel's collections, the fruit of the creativity, imagination and attention to detail of Arnault Chastaingt, director of Chanel's Watch Creation Studio.
This J12 Couture 38MM in highly resistant black ceramic is part of this new collection. It is equipped with the COSC-certified Calibre 12.1 automatic movement, developed by movement manufacturer Kenissi (Chanel is a shareholder in the company). Its dial is criss-crossed by the grid of a sewing pattern and circled by a tape measure motif. Scissor-shaped hour and minute hands mark the time, along with a sewing needle for the seconds, topped by a unidirectional rotating bezel in matte black-coated steel and a black varnished sapphire bezel ring with a gold tape measure motif. This limited edition watch is water-resistant to 200 metres.
