Marine Haute Joaillerie 9509 Poseidonia

Posidonia oceanica is a species of seagrass that plays a vital role in the ecosystem of the Mediterranean Sea. Breguet acknowledges the importance of this natural treasure with the Marine Haute Joaillerie 9509 Poseidonia. The rippling tendrils of the grass are rendered on the dial by 85 precious stones in an invisible setting against a background of Tahitian mother-of-pearl marquetry. Each of the four versions is executed in a palette of shades with a different dominant colour: white (diamonds), blue (sapphires), red (rubies) or green (emeralds). The stones are individually selected for their colour, before being baguette-cut and invisibly set. This skilful setting continues on the bezel, the caseband, the lugs and the clasp of the buckle. The watch's mechanical heart is Calibre 591C, an extra-thin, in-house, automatic movement whose oscillating weight is inlaid with mother-of-pearl and trimmed with diamonds.
