Minute Repeater Perpetual

This complicated piece by A. Lange & Söhne brings together watchmaking’s two most virtuoso complications, namely a minute repeater and a perpetual calendar with an outsize date and moon phases. Powering them is the new manufacture L122.2 calibre, which incorporates a safety device to prevent damage to the chiming mechanism. Furthermore, all the calendar indications are simultaneously advanced using a single corrector. The black enamel surface of the white gold dial provides contrast for easy legibility of the time and the calendar information. A subsidiary dial at 9 o’clock shows the day of the week and a 24-hour indication, while another subsidiary dial, at 3 o’clock, shows the month and the leap year. At 6 o’clock, subsidiary seconds surround the moon-phase display, dotted with hand-engraved stars. Turning over this 50-piece limited edition reveals a sapphire back and, through it, the exquisitely finished movement. The hand-engraved balance cock and the whiplash spring mounted on it are both hallmarks of an A. Lange & Söhne watch.
