Neo Constant Escapement
Revealed in 2013, Girard-Perregaux’s Constant Escapement L.M. debuted an innovative concept in its constant-force escapement, going on to win the highest distinction - the Aiguille d’Or – at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève. Ten years later, the brand has optimised and refined this mechanism in a new architecture: that of the Bridges collection. The escapement’s revolutionary design is based on a silicium blade which accumulates a uniform amount of energy each time it buckles back and forth. This energy is then delivered to the balance in regular impulses. An integral part of the watch’s aesthetic, this mechanism is housed in a 45mm titanium case. Above it, two large barrels provide 7 days of power reserve, shown on a linear indicator at 9 o’clock. Chronometer-certified by the COSC, this GP09200 calibre proves the concept’s complete feasibility.
