After an astonishingly rapid succession of world's-thinnest records, Bulgari is tackling another "weighty" issue in watchmaking. Not content with claiming the title for the world's thinnest automatic tourbillon in 2018, the Octo Finissimo Tourbillon Carbon barely tips the scales at 48 grams. The secret lies with Carbon CTP, the incomparably light, not to mention highly shock-resistant material of the case and bracelet. For a tone-on-tone effect, Bulgari has blackened the BVL 288 skeleton movement. Within it, the flying tourbillon supported by ball bearings provides a hynotic spectacle, confirming that this futuristic watch has yet to reveal all its facets.
