Metiers D'Art
The name speaks for itself. Jaquet Droz captures the spirit of this great feline in two renditions of the Petite Heure Minute, limited to 28 pieces each. The artists at the brand's own Ateliers d'Art studios have miniature-painted a tiger's head on Grand Feu enamel dials in black or ivory. For the black dial version, cased in white gold, a white tiger fixes us with cool blue eyes. On the ivory dial, cased in red gold, we recognise the tiger's famous orange and black stripes, and penetrating green eyes. These portraits are rendered in meticulous detail using brushes so fine some have just a single bristle. Freeing space for these magnificent likenesses, the off-centred subdial displays hours and minutes. The movement is Jaquet Droz's 2653 calibre with silicon balance spring and twin barrels providing three days of power reserve.
