Extra-thin isn’t Bulgari’s only playground. Alongside the Octo Finissimo Ultra - which for a few months held the title of the world’s thinnest watch - the brand also turns its attention to creating ever smaller movements. Hence the four new Serpenti Misteriosi High Jewellery Secret Watches. A press on the tongue reveals the dial of a watch that is held inside an oval capsule which can be clipped in and out of the serpent’s head. Beneath the diamond-paved round dial is the manual-winding BVL 100 calibre: a diminutive 12.30mm in diameter for a height of 2.50mm and weighing barely 1.30 grams. The 102 components have been miniaturised to an extreme degree, not least the barrel which contains a mainspring that is 170mm long inside its 5mm diameter and 1.47mm height. Reference 103560 is in green lacquered white gold set with brilliant-cut diamonds. Two pear-cut emeralds form the serpent’s eyes. The double-tour bracelet is also in white gold and green lacquer, again set with brilliant-cut diamonds.
