Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer

Omega developed the Speedmaster X-33 Marstimer with input from the European Space Agency, in anticipation of a future Mars landing. Cased in titanium with a 45mm diameter and powered by the Omega 5622 multi-functional quartz movement, this chronograph tracks time and time zones on Earth and on the red planet. The MTC function shows the date and time for a Mars sol (Mars day) at the prime meridian, allowing for the fact that a sol is 39 minutes (2.7%) longer than an Earth day. An innovative solar compass finds true north on both planets. Circling the dial, the bezel ring in oxalic anodised aluminium and red hematite references Mars’ characteristic red dust; the same red shade appears on the seconds hand. Embossed on the caseback are the seahorse logo together with the Speedmaster wording. This Marstimer is delivered with a titanium bracelet that can be swapped out for a Nato strap.
