UR-120 Spock

Urwerk’s UR-120 reshapes the concept of the UR-110 collection, taking it in a “thinner, smoother, more elegant” direction. Accordingly, the display system has been redesigned as a central carousel whose three arms carry a satellite, each side of which displays an hour numeral. When a satellite exits the minute scale on the right and reaches the left side of the case, it actuates a command that triggers the satellite change – but no ordinary one: the satellite splits into two rectangular sub-elements that form a V-shape, rotate on their axis then close to form the new hour unit. Hence the dial is the theatre of a triple revolution: that of the carousel on its central axis; the counter-rotation of each satellite so as to remain upright, and the rotation of the sub-elements on their axis. Time is shown by the movement of the hour satellites along the minute track. This monochrome mat grey watch is cased in steel and titanium, with flexible lugs.
