Neither round nor square, it is shaped like a cheich, the traditional Tuareg headscarf, its twisting folds of yellow, white and rose gold forming a wearable desert sculpture, a tribute to resilience, elegance and heatproof style. Only four were ever made: one was given to rally legend Gaston Rahier, while the rest remain vaulted in Cartier's archives. More than a watch, the Cheich is a mirage turned metal.
