Louis Moinet is born in Bourges in 1768. Right from the outset, his signature notions are elegance and excellence. He produces an astronomical watch, then, in 1848, publishes his reference work, "Le Traité d'Horlogerie". In 2008, the entrepreneur Jean-Marie Schaller revives the legend by creating "Les Ateliers Louis Moinet". The mission of the brand is to enrich the heritage of the founder. Each watch is either a unique piece or a limited edition.

Birth of Louis Moinet. The man discovers the world of watch-making at a very young age with the master watch-maker with whom he spends a great deal of time.

Louis Moinet produces the first chronograph in the world, the "Compteur de Tierces".

Creation of the Louis Moinet workshops.

Introduction of the Memoris Red Eclipse by Louis Moinet, a movement especially designed to make the chronograph's mechanism visible.
