19Thirty

Bovet's first steel watch, the 19Thirty - inspired by a 1930s pocket chronometer - lacks none of the brand's signature features: circular-graining and circular Côtes de Genève, openings in the dial, symmetrical counters, and the carefully studied curves of the case: either a Fleurier case with crown and bow at 12 o'clock, a hallmark of Bovet, or the more traditional Dimier case. This combination of steel with a "simple" manual-winding movement, featuring small seconds and a seven-day power reserve from a single barrel, shows Bovet is intent on expanding its entry-level offering with the same emphasis on chronometric performance. Indeed, no effort has been spared in ensuring that 19Thirty watches are elegant and precise in equal measure. The collection covers 18 references with a black, blue or ivory dial, with Arabic, Roman or Chinese numerals. The latter of course alludes to Bovet's pre-eminent position on the Chinese market in the early twentieth century.
