Big Bang Tourbillon Power Reserve 5 Days Sapphire Baguette

Hublot's skeleton Big Bang Tourbillon shows the world it has nothing to hide, with a case, dial, strap and movement that are completely transparent. This is the first time a movement has been made with sapphire bridges, highlighting the contours of the gears through contrast. The case middle, case back, bezel and tourbillon bridge, all in sapphire, reveal a crystal mechanism that appears to float. The 48 baguette-cut diamonds on the gem-set version gave Hublot further opportunity to innovate. Because of its hardness, sapphire is difficult to machine in preparation for gem-setting. Hublot's solution is to make cells in the bezel to the exact size of each diamond. The stones are then inserted from underneath, the bezel flipped over and screwed to the case, thus preserving the watch's absolute transparency.
