Chronomètre FB 1R.6-1

This is the second watch from Ferdinand Berthoud, following on from the Chronomètre FB 1 in its different versions. The "R" in its name stands for regulator, in reference to the regulator-style display formed by the hours on a disc in an aperture at 2 o'clock, minutes on a subdial at 12 o'clock, and seconds by a large central hand. The 10 o'clock position is reserved for an original power-reserve indicator, visible on the back: a truncated cone moves up and down an arbour that is connected to the barrel. A feeler spindle via a system of levers transfers state-of-wind information to be displayed by a hand on the dial. A tourbillon and a fusee-and-chain mechanism complete this sophisticated movement.
