Classic Fusion 45mm Cruz-Diez Ceramic

This final project by the late Franco-Venezuelan artist Carlos Cruz-Diez confirms Hublot's ongoing interest in collaborating with artists. An important theorist of the twentieth century, Cruz-Diez wrote extensively on colour, which he considered to be "an ephemeral, autonomous and ever-evolving reality." Accordingly, the dial of this Classic Fusion is designed on two levels, each treated in saturated Pantone colours. The hour hand, on the first level, and the minute hand on the second level rotate a transparent disc, printed with black lines. This rotation creates a pattern of colours that changes every second. The Classic Fusion Cruz-Diez, whose movement is based on the HUB1100, comes as 45mm and 38mm case sizes in three materials, all limited editions: 100 and 25 pieces respectively for the black ceramic version shown here.
