Classic Fusion Gold Crystal Firmament

The dial of this Classic Fusion is embellished with gold crystals, obtained from flakes of gold using a technique that Hublot has developed. Twenty-four karat gold, the purest form possible, is heated to melting point. This produces emanations of gold: imagine it as steam carrying atoms of gold. These particles rise then, as soon as they touch a cold surface, set into crystals, each a unique and completely unpredictable shape. These crystals are carefully selected – only 20% make the grade - then set on the dial, cluster by cluster, where they are imprisoned in a very thin layer of transparent lacquer. This must be done in a vacuum so as to prevent air bubbles from forming, and repeated twenty times to capture all the crystals. A black ceramic case surrounds the dial, in a 38mm or 45mm diameter.
