Coussin de Cartier Innovation

Cartier’s surprisingly “squishy” Coussin watch is the result of innovations from the Manufacture’s research and innovation laboratory. On the two 20-piece limited editions, the case comprises a mesh of gold links. Cartier has then incorporated an innovative element, thanks to which it can be gently “squashed” before plumping back to its original shape… like an actual cushion (“coussin” in French). Adding an additional layer of complexity, the case is paved with diamonds or with diamonds and coloured gemstones. Because of the flexible nature of the case, the gem-setter has to set it in resin while working. As a final flourish, the dial is covered with stones in a snow setting.
