Quetzalcoatl was a Mesoamerican divinity, generally represented as a feathered serpent, which presided over the cycle of time. It is reproduced here, on the dial of this manual-winding DB 25, in hand-engraved solid gold. The head of the serpent indicates the hours while minutes are read at the tip of its tail. Circling the dial, hours are marked by the ruins of Aztec temples from the city of Tenochtitlan, as viewed from the sky. This fine craftsmanship is further highlighted by the attention paid to finishing, a detail that is fast becoming a hallmark of De Bethune. Limited edition of 20.
