Defy Extreme Glacier

Zenith introduces a series of special editions incorporating natural stones to highlight the environments for which the DEFY Extreme is destined. After 2021’s DEFY Extreme Desert comes the DEFY Extreme Glacier, inspired by the frozen landscapes of Antarctica. An integral part of the titanium case, the component that protects the pushers as well as the dodecagonal bezel are in chalcedony, a semi-translucent crystalline stone whose pale blue suggests glaciers. The open dial reveals the inner workings of the high-frequency El Primero 1/100th of a second automatic chronograph calibre with its two regulating organs beating at 50Hz for the chronograph and 5Hz for the timekeeping. Carrying on the ice-cold theme, the chronograph counters are transparent sapphire crystal with a frosted finish. Opposite small seconds at 9 o’clock is the chrono 30-minute counter, with the 60-seconds counter at the 6 o’clock position. The chronograph seconds hand sweeps the dial once per second to measure hundredths of a second. This DEFY Extreme Glacier is supplied with an additional two straps, one in durable black Velcro and one in white rubber, which are easily swapped with the titanium bracelet using the quick-change mechanism on the case back.
