Lange & Söhne demonstrates that two into one will go, and magnificently so, by combining the brilliance of the Grande Lange 1 Lumen, presented in 2013, with the extreme precision of the Grande Lange 1 Moon Phase, introduced the following year. The gold disc which the brand traditionally uses for its moonphase displays has been replaced by a glass disc that has been finished with a luminous coating. The result is quite breathtaking as the moon phase, which will run for 122.6 years without adjustment, literally glows inside a mysterious halo of light. An identical technique has been used for the outsize date whose transparent glass disc turns above a phosphorescent background under the aperture. An ingenious display system matched with a remarkable design for this platinum watch, of which 200 will be made.
