Grande Seconde Skelet-One Tourbillon

A skeleton movement conserves the minimum amount of material for maximum rigidity, and to allow light to pass through the mechanisms, while maintaining correct and precise functioning. Jaquet Droz takes this principle to its furthest point in a symmetrical skeleton structure whose contemporary style is accentuated by black-treated bridges. The tourbillon cage, which carries the small seconds hand, mirrors the geometry of the movement. Once every minute its triple cross shape aligns with its bridges. The time is given on two dials in a tiered configuration. The sapphire dial displays hours and minutes on applied gold indexes. It sits above the small seconds dial in Swiss smoky quartz. Together they form the figure-eight shape that is the signature of the Grande Seconde collection.
