La Esmeralda Tourbillon "A Secret" Eternity Edition

For its 230th anniversary, Girard-Perregaux has created a wristwatch that returns to the design of the renowned La Esmeralda pocket watch, winner of a gold medal at the 1889 Paris Universal Exhibition. Distinguished by the tourbillon under three gold bridges that span the dial, and which have come to symbolise Girard-Perregaux, this La Esmeralda Tourbillon displays the finest craftsmanship for each of the seven different colour executions proposed and crafted on request with a maximum of 18 in each colour. The dial, which is cut away to reveal the tourbillon, the central wheel and the barrel, is beautifully engine-turned while the top and bottom bridges extend into miniature sculpted horses. The hinged officer-style back is decorated with blue enamel on a background of sunburst guillochage and also sculpted with horses. The case middle, bezel and lugs are finely engraved with a leaf design, with the addition of enamel on the band and lugs. A watch steeped in history and skill, this new La Esmeralda is Girard-Perregaux’s most ambitious celebration of its anniversary year.
