La Panthère Watch

Cartier’s love affair with the panther began more than a century ago when Jeanne Toussaint, artistic director of Cartier jewellery, chose it as her personal signature, in 1917. Under her guidance, the panther would become synonymous with the Parisian firm, more often than not in remarkably realistic forms. On this jewellery watch, a panther’s head fastens the double-wrap bracelet in yellow gold. A brilliant-cut diamond marks the 12 o’clock position on the gold-coloured dial, with a further 434 brilliant-cut diamonds set on the case and the panther head. Two pear-shaped emeralds form the feline’s eyes, with black lacquer for its nose and spots.
