Astronomical Indications, Gem-Set
The Limelight Stella is Piaget's first complication watch for women to have been developed and manufactured entirely by Piaget. The self-winding 584P calibre with a 42-hour power reserve features an astronomical moonphase display: the phases of the moon are shown by two moons on a starry background, on a disc driven by a 135-tooth wheel. This type of moonphase measures each lunation in 29 days, 12 hours and 45 minutes, which means a discrepancy of just 0.23 second a day compared with the actual lunar cycle. Thanks to such precision, the mechanism will require adjustment by just one day every 122 years, compared with a traditional moonphase which is out by one day every three years.
